More than 400 servicemembers took part in Fort Leonard Wood Appreciation Night, May 17, at Hammons Field in Springfield, Mo. Servicemembers lined the outfield and several post dignitaries, including Soldiers from the postís Warrior Transition Unit and Brig. Gen. Thomas Spoehr, United States Army Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear School commandant, were among those who threw out ceremonial first pitches. The 399th Army Band, the Joint Service Color Guard and a flyover by the Missouri National Guard were also part of opening ceremonies before the Springfield Cardinalsí game against the Tulsa Drillers.
