Soldiers face fears in BCT ‘rite of passage’

Fear is a powerful emotion men and women face during Basic Combat Training.

 It manifests in many ways, including a fear of heights at the Warrior Tower and a fear of the unknown in the gas chamber.

 Soldiers in Company E, 1st Battalion, 48th Infantry Regiment, faced their fear of the gas chamber during week two of  training.

Kid’s Trout Fishing Derby slated Feb. 25

On Feb. 25, the Outdoor Adventure Center and the Natural Resources Branch of Fort Leonard Wood, along with the U.S. Forest Service and the Missouri Department of Conservation, will host the annual Kid’s Trout Fishing Derby at Stone Mill Spring Recreation Area, located on the Mark Twain National Forest adjacent to Fort Leonard Wood.
