Special to GUIDON

You can take a trip back in time to the Old West and enjoy a meal like a real cowboy on the open trail May 26, when the second annual Wagons for Warriors event takes place on the Cowan Civic Center grounds in Lebanon.

The event is hosted by Lebanon’s Friends of the Fort Committee and the Lebanon Area Chamber of Commerce, and invites authentic chuck wagon crews from around the country to offer up some of their best fireside dishes, with proceeds benefitting the Mid-Missouri Chapter of the United States Army Wounded Warrior Fund.

Crews from Missouri, Indiana, Oklahoma and Texas are scheduled to circle their wagons from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with lunch being served at noon.
