Programs include the Sunday Night Live Program, Vacation Bible School and even a backyard bible club, said Cindy Dack, director of religious education. “We are excited about offering Sunday Night Live during the summer this year,” Dack said. SNL is a Sunday night program that offers Bible study options for the whole Family. The summer session kicks off at 6:45 p.m. June 10 at the Main Post Chapel. Normally the weekly event includes a fellowship dinner, but Dack said since Families are usually so busy during the summer, dinner will not be offered during the summer session. “It is going to be a summer full of study and great opportunities to come together and study God’s word, be with each other, fellowship and just have a lot of fun,” Dack said. “We will have a new study group for children, K through 5th grade, called ‘Faithful to All His Promises.’ David McKay and his team of youth leaders continue to lead the youth Bible study. We will continue with ‘The Community Bible Experience,’ ‘The Five Love Languages,’ ‘Creation to Christ’ and have a new study for those who are just beginning their spiritual formation, called ‘Stages of Faith,’” Dack said. “We are particularly hoping to draw those individuals who are new to the faith — new Christians — and give them some basic faith foundation and spiritual formation information,” she said. A summer session of Dave Ramsey’s “Financial Peace University” is scheduled for Wednesday evenings. This 10-week study will be offered in Rm. 148 of the Main Post Chapel. According to Derek Welborn, class instructor, FPU is designed to teach people about a budget and to manage where each dollar of their income goes. “This course enables people to plan for the future and to live debt-free, without the need for credit. I would encourage all Families and single folks to take part — the younger the better,” Welborn said. An orientation class was held Wednesday and an additional orientation class is scheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesday. To take part, new participants who did not participate in Wednesday’s orientation must take part in next week’s orientation. Childcare will be provided if needed. To register for FPU, or for more information, contact Welborn at 573.528.0639. The chapel has also scheduled Vacation Bible School events for the summer. Catholic Vacation Bible School is scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon July 16-20. Protestant Vacation Bible School is scheduled from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. July 23 through 27.
