Special to GUIDON
The Fort Leonard Wood American Red Cross will begin another dental assistant training program in July. The purpose of the program is to serve the Fort Leonard Wood community while supporting the Dental Activity. During this training opportunity, trainees must be willing to commit to the seven-month period required for completion, with a minimum of 1,015 hours. The duty day will be from 7:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. It is mandatory that trainees attend the entire program and complete every rotation. Students are allowed to take up to five sick and four vacation days without affecting their course completion date, with prior approval of the program coordinator. All dental assistant trainees must be military ID car holders over the age of 18. There is no cost for trainees in this program, and childcare will not be provided. Candidates will be chosen on the basis of application, essay and individual interviews. Applications will be available at the American Red Cross, starting Monday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. The deadline to turn in applications is June 22. Interviews begin June 26 through 28, and the program will start on July 9. For more information, call the American Red Cross office at 596.0300. |
