Maneuver Support Center of Excellence and Fort Leonard Wood commanding general This Fourth of July, we will celebrate our nation’s 236th birthday and the independence that we enjoy. We will also honor the legacy of the millions of selfless men and women who have defended America’s freedoms. Each and every one of you — Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, Department of the Army Civilians and Families — have an important role in continuing to secure the freedoms, liberties and ideals of our forefathers. I am proud of your service and am honored to serve with you. ![]() Yenter Our Fort Leonard Wood military team has gone 260 days with zero accident-related fatalities. Your leadership and focus on safety have been fantastic, and I ask you to continue to set the example. Please do your part to prevent accidents in the workplace, at home, and during outings. I specifically urge you to do the following: Buckle up and ensure that everyone in your vehicle does the same. If you choose to drink, always have a designated driver. While operating any vehicle, watch your speed and put down the cell phone. If you drive a motorcycle or all-terrain vehicle, wear the correct personal protective equipment and make sure you have proper training and mentorship. Be aware of the associated hazards and take the appropriate steps to avoid injury from outdoor activities, such as swimming, hiking or fireworks. We are fortunate to live in this nation. The Maneuver Support Center of Excellence thanks you for your selfless service. Enjoy the holiday and be safe. |
