Maneuver Support Center of Excellence and Fort Leonard Wood commanding general

On Monday, we celebrate Labor Day and honor America’s vital workforce that keeps our nation strong.  I am grateful for your dedication and the contributions you make to the nation as part of our workforce and team here at Fort Leonard Wood.

This time of year includes Permanent Change of Station moves, the start of a new school year, and the close-out of our fiscal year.  With so many activities critical to our service members, civilians and Family members, we must not forget to practice safety at every turn.

I ask you to be diligent and safe in everything you do. Do not let this fast-paced time of year impact your judgment. We stay focused on the battlefield; and we will stay focused here at Fort Leonard Wood as well.

Leaders set the example. Wear your seat belt and personal protective gear, and always have a designated driver if you are drinking alcohol. Use the battle buddy system.  Follow this practice in your training and in off-duty pursuits.  Look out for one another.  Be smart, and, if your assessment and your gut tells you the risk is too high — don’t do it.

As the school year begins, be vigilant, focused, and cautious when driving, especially around school facilities, buses and cross walks.

Practice safety in everything you do. Command Sgt. Maj. Terrence Murphy and I are proud to serve with you.

Maneuver Support starts here!
