The Waynesville R-VI School District has announced student enrollment dates for the 2015-16 school year.

Enrollment dates for Waynesville High School, ninth through 12th grades, are as follows:

 — 12th grade, 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. July 29

 — 11th grade, 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. July 30

 — 10th grade, 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. July 31

 — Ninth graders may register all three days.


For elementary schools, kindergarten* through fifth grade, the Sixth Grade Center for sixth-graders, and Waynesville Middle School for grades seven and eight, enrollment takes place from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. August 4, 5 and 6.

 *According to Missouri law, a child is eligible to attend kindergarten if they reach the age of five before the first day of August, or if the child is a military Family member who has successfully completed a state-accredited pre-kindergarten program in another state, or who has attended a state-accredited kindergarten program in another state.

How can I find out more about the Waynesville R-VI School District?

The district will host a free, informal welcome session from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m. on Aug. 5 and Aug. 6 at the Woodland Community Center on Fort Leonard Wood. Families are invited to attend either one of the two events.

 

Which school will my child  attend?

— For those living off-post, students in kindergarten through second grade,  will attend East Elementary, and students in third through fifth grades will go to Freedom Elementary.

— For those living on post, the student’s school is based upon where they live.  Parents may contact the school liaison officer on Fort Leonard Wood at 573.596.0131, ext. 60357, or see the enrollment form on the district’s website. The form is located under the “Parents/Students” tab.

— Regardless of where they reside, all Waynesville R-VI sixth-grade students attend the Sixth-Grade Center; all seventh- and eighth-grade students attend Waynesville Middle School and all ninth- through 12th-grade students attend Waynesville High School. 
 
 
What information do I need to bring to register my child as a new  student?

Regardless of the child’s age — whether it’s a kindergartner or a high school senior, parents need to bring the following information and documents for each child:

— Shot record. (For more information, go to the district’s main website and click on the “Parents/Students” tab, select  “Enrollment Information & Forms,” and then click on “2015-16 Missouri School Immunization Requirements” link.)

— Last grade card, if applicable.

— Transfer sheet, if available.

— Information from previous schools, such as individualized education programs.

— Registered birth certificate (for kindergarten and first-grade students only).

 

When is the first day of school?


The first day of school is Aug. 19.  Parents and students should note that the first day of school will not be a late-start Wednesday.
