Fort Leonard Wood’s intramural bowling season entered its second week of competition Feb. 9, with unit teams competing on the lanes at Daugherty Bowling Center.

As one of the post’s seven sports seasons, bowling gives service members two ways to earn points for their units.

Teams that complete the intramural season earn points toward the post’s overall intramural standings, and also qualify to compete in the postseason Commander’s Cup Bowling  Tournament.

For teams like the Medical Department Activity, the weekly games are a chance to have fun and build skills on the lanes.

“It’s been a learning process,” explained Tyler Schultz, MEDDAC player/coach.

On Feb. 9, MEDDAC fell to the 14th Military Police Brigade, while the 554th Engineer Battalion beat the 763rd Ordnance Company, and the 1st Engineer Brigade picked up a forfeit win.

Intramural teams made their season debut on Feb. 2. In those games, the 554th Engr. Bn. defeated MEDDAC; the 1st Engr. Bde. beat the 763rd EOD,  and the 14th MP Bde. picked up a  forfeit win.

The 554th Engineers, the 1st Engr. Bde. and the 14th MP Bde. are currently tied for the lead of the league standings, each with records of 2-0. Three weeks remain in the season.
