Special to GUIDON

The last week of February is Military Saves Week. During this time, leaders at all levels and in all components — active duty, National Guard, and reserve — take the time to motivate and educate service members, civilians, and their Families about smart financial practices.

Express the importance of financial readiness through reducing debt and building wealth.

Discuss steps to maintain financial stability, including setting goals, making plans and establishing savings accounts. And talk about the significance of supporting long-term Family goals by involving dependents in the financial planning process.

Financial readiness is an important part of our overall readiness, and this Military Saves Week, we ask that you renew your commitment to healthy financial goals.

Maintain your monetary discipline and dedicate yourselves to preparing for the future.

Take the Military Saver’s Pledge today at

Thank you to our Soldiers, Marines, Sailors, Airmen and civilians for all you do for our nation and here at Fort Leonard Wood.

We are proud to serve with you. Victory starts here — victory through skill.

(Editor’s note: Savre is the Maneuver Support Center of Excellence and Fort Leonard Wood commanding general. Ward is the MSCoE and Fort Leonard Wood command sergeant major.)
