Gaining 8,225 yards and 61 rushing touchdowns in his rofessional football career, NFL great and Heisman Trophy winner, Herschel Walker, is slated to visit Fort Leonard Wood, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Herschel will speak to service members Tuesday on breaking free from his own shame related to mental illness.

He will also give his presentation to Family members beginning at 7:45 a.m., Wednesday in the Engineer Regimental Room of the post museum. This event is free and open to the public, but with limited seating – first come, first served.

The theme of his presentation is “There is no shame in getting help; I did,” in which he provides emotional and motivational support to service members, veterans and military Families.

While here, Herschel will also have the opportunity to observe training at Fort Leonard Wood.
