Scott received the award at the annual MIAAA conference banquet held April 9 at the Tan-Tar-A resort in Osage Beach, Missouri, a little more than a week after serving as the keynote speaker at Fort Leonard Wood’s Youth Sports Soccer and Track-and-Field Opening Ceremony. During that event, Scott cited the lifelong benefits children can attain by participating in athletics, and he urged students to  concentrate on their studies and consider playing multiple sports to become well-rounded athletes.

Scott is in his 16th year of education, serving the last nine years as Waynesville’s athletic director. Prior to serving in his current position, Scott taught history and coached soccer. He has previously presented programs at the MIAAA State Athletic Director Conference and the Missouri State High School Activities Association Summer Workshops.

During his tenure at Waynesville, Scott has also developed a Student-Activity Leadership Group, was a member of the district team to design projects for a softball complex and baseball complex, and played a role in the construction and completion of a new turf field, track, stadium, concession stand and field houses.
