Free 5k, duathlon to celebrate Menís Health Month Print E-mail

The Fort Leonard Wood Sports Department will hold a 5k fun run and all-ages duathlon to promote awareness for Men’s Health Month.

The event begins with with the fun run and duathlon at 8 a.m., followed by a kid’s duathlon at 9 a.m.

Baby strollers and dogs on leashes are permitted. Bicyclists must follow all installation safety guidelines during the duathlon. Duathlon participants are asked to register in advance by calling 573.563.0131, ext. 64359 or register in person on the day of the event starting at 7:30 a.m.

The event will also feature a mini health fair at DFC. General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital will have information covering a variety of men’s health issues.

Saturday’s event is one of six free 5k fun runs to be held on post this year. Runners who complete four of the six events can receive a free T-shirt. Punch cards can be obtained before and throughout the event at the information tables.

All events are free and open to the public.
