Fort Leonard Wood’s 2017 softball season got underway June 5, 6 and 7, with intramural and Recreation League teams competing on the fields at Sports Complex B.

Nineteen military-unit teams began the intramural season in Conferences A and B, while the Rec League, which is open to service members as well as civilian DOD-issued ID card holders, began with 12 teams.

In Conference A games played June 6:

— The Noncommissioned Officer Academy defeated the U.S. Marine Corps Detachment, 18-17;

— The Marine Det. MOTO team beat the 554th Engr. Bn., 15-12;

— The 364th Training Squadron, Air Force Detachment 1, defeated the Medical Department Activity, 28-14;

— The 701st Military Police Battalion beat the 50th Engineer Company, 13-12;

— The 701st MP Bn. defeated MOTO, 15-11;

— The Air Force Det. beat NCOA, 11-8.

Conference A will play for the next six weeks, with games played  on Tuesdays.

In Conference B games played June 7:

— The 763rd Ordnance Company defeated the 509th Engineer Company, 10-8;

— The Dental Activity beat the 2nd Battalion, 10th Infantry Regiment, 1-0;

— The 364th Training Squadron beat the 58th Transportation Battalion, 20-6;

— The 515th Engineer Company defeated Staff Judge Advocate, 19-7;

— The 14th Military Police Brigade beat Forward Support Company, 21-9;

— DENTAC defeated SJA, 21-9.

Conference B teams have seven weeks of games remaining, and will play on Wednesdays.

In Rec League games held June 5:

— The Marine Det. beat Strictly Business, 9-5;

— The Monstars defeated the OTD Dragons, 10-4;

— The Hit Squad beat Directorate of Emergency Services, 30-0;

— Not Forgotten defeated the Dental Activity, 10-3;

— The 50th Engineer Company beat the Army and Air Force Exchange Service, 17-2;

— The Monstars beat DES, 17-8;

— The OTD Dragons beat the Engineer Captain’s Career Course, 1-0;

— The Marine Det. defeated AAFES, 28-4.

The Rec League season continues for the next eight weeks, with games played on Mondays.
