The Bruce C. Clarke Library Reading by Design Summer Reading Program will end July 14.

Readers can still register at  to log minutes read. There are various levels by age for babies, tots, children, tweens, teens and adults.

The grand prize will be randomly drawn online after the end of the program and winners will be contacted. Summer readers have to read and log enough minutes to complete all badges for their age group to be included in the drawing.

The overall program is online, meaning readers can participate anytime and anywhere. The summer reading program is for people of all ages, including those who can’t read yet, but enjoy hearing books.

The Department of Defense/ Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation Libraries  provided the online program and most of the reading  incentives such as themed T-shirts, water bottles, book bags, etc.

Readers have until Aug. 14 to pick up their reading incentives (while supplies last).

Feel free to contact the main circulation desk at 573.563.4113 for more information.

Our Favorite Wizard’s Birthday Bash
Join us on July 30, as we celebrate the end of  summer and a very special birthday. That’s right, our favorite wizard is turning 37 this year.

In his honor, Bruce C. Clarke Library will be hosting its very first House Cup Tournament. The house with the most points by the end of the evening will win prizes.

To participate, visit the library and take the sorting hat quiz to discover your house and start earning points today. Houses will earn five points for every member that joins that house and five points for every member who RSVPs by July 25 at the front desk. Make sure to get your invitation soon because the House Cup Tournament is by invitation only.

Other ways to earn points before the birthday bash are to attend our Wizard Movie Series and participate in that day’s activity. Every day of the series, members will get five points for attending the movie and five for completing the activity.

The Wizard Movie Series begins July 17 and runs until the 27th. All movies will be shown at 3 p.m. in the Community Room.

Finally, the best way to earn points is to attend the birthday bash. Players will earn points playing board games and by playing Wizard Jeopardy. We will also be hosting a costume contest. The winner of the contest will receive a special prize, plus 50 points for their house.

For more information, ask a staff member.
