The Fort Leonard Wood ID Card Facility will change their hours of operation beginning Oct. 1 as part of a six-month pilot program.

New hours will be 6:30 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 4:30 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays for appointments only. Wednesdays from 6:30 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 4:30 p.m. for walk-ins only and 6:30 to 11:30 a.m. Thursdays for appointments only. The office is closed on Thursday afternoons for mandatory training.

At the end of the six months, the program will be evaluated to see if the hours become permanent, said Felesia Herron-Bryant, Human Resources Support Center chief.

“The new hours of operations will allow for service to the customer in a timelier manner,” Herron-Bryant said.  “This change will give the customer a clearer idea of when they will receive service. Walk-in customers found themselves waiting hours to receive service for their needs. This will alleviate long wait times and Soldiers away from their duties and/or training.”

She said the hope is to streamline the ID card process, raise the performance of the facility’s common levels of service, decrease the customer wait time, and keep the Soldiers and our civilians in their footprint to accomplish their assigned mission. “This puts the customer in control of when they will be seen by making an appointment,” Herron-Bryant said.

All ID cards can be renewed up to 90 days prior to expiration date.
