Theater group to hold auditions for ‘Alice in Wonderland’ in Rolla Print E-mail

A group audition will be held for the Missoula Children’s Theatre production of “Alice in Wonderland” from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday at the Cedar Street Playhouse, 701 North Cedar St., in Rolla.

“Alice in Wonderland” is part of the Missoula Children’s Theatre’s international touring project, and will include rehearsals and performances Monday through Oct. 14 at the playhouse, presented in conjunction with the Ozark Actors Theatre in Rolla.

Up to 60 roles are available for local students from kindergarten through the 12th grade. Among the roles to be cast are three Alices of varying size, her sister Margaret, the Mad Hatter, the March Hare, the Queen of Hearts, the Knave of Hearts, the Cheshire Cats, Tweedeldum and Tweedledee, the Flower Band, Cards and Lobsters.

ImageNo preparation is necessary for the audition. All those auditioning should arrive before 4 p.m. and plan to stay for the full two hours. Assistant directors will also be cast to aid in rehearsals throughout the week and to take on essential backstage responsibilities.

The Missoula Children’s Theatre touring productions are complete with costumes, scenery, props and makeup.

The MCT Tour actor/directors will conduct rehearsals throughout the week from 4 to 8:30 p.m. each day. A detailed rehearsal schedule will be distributed after the auditions.

Some of the cast members will be asked to stay for a rehearsal immediately following the audition on Monday. Although not all cast members will be needed at every rehearsal session, those auditioning should have a clear schedule for the entire week and be able to attend all rehearsals required for their role and both performances

“Alice in Wonderland” performances are scheduled at 3 p.m. and again at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 14 at the Cedar Street Playhouse.
