Runners turn out for ‘Turkey Trot’ Print E-mail

Nearly 300 participants turned out for the annual Turkey Trot 5k and 10k races, held Saturday on Fort Leonard Wood, with both races starting and ending at Davidson Fitness Center.

Cecelia Dean was the first registered runner to cross the finish line, winning the overall 5k run and the division for female runners ages 18 to 29 with a time of 20 minutes, 7 seconds.

Brandon White won the 10k and was first in the division for male runners ages 18 to 29 with a time of 33:29.

Other 5k division winners were as follows:

— Males 17 and younger: James Dukas, 23:41

— Females 17 and younger: Makenna Harris, 36:44

— Males 18 to 29: Adam Leemans, 20:59

— Males 30 to 39: Jay Tiegs, 22:20

— Females 30 to 39: Roseanne Newsom, 28:00

— Males 40 to 49: Hue Anstett, 21:12

— Females 40 to 49: Sharon McCain, 31:22

— Males 50 to 59: William Lewis, 29:40

— Females 50 to 59: Shannon Soloman, 30:44

— Males 60 and older: Tom Magruder, 32:04

— Females 60 and older: Janell Rowan, 28:56

Other 10k division winners included:

— Males 17 and younger: Luke Morrison, 39:35

— Females 17 and younger: Jordan Nitchman, 55:56

— Males 18 to 29: Brandon White, 33:29

— Females 18 to 29: Grace Andrews, 43:58

— Males 30 to 39: Jerre Hansbrough, 42:05

— Females 30 to 39: Jacquelyn Farrar, 46:43

— Males 40 to 49: Anthony Hutchinson, 39:49

— Females 40 to 49: Kate Markert, 57:02

— Males 50 to 59: Kerry Sechrest, 48:00

— Females 50 to 59: Jackie Chen, 46:57

— Males 60 and older: Russ Dixon, 48:18

Turkeys were presented to the runners with the fastest times in each age groups.
