Four weeks down: three weeks to go.

That’s the situation Fort Leonard Wood’s unit teams face as some try to preserve their so-far-unbeaten season records, vie for conference leads or simply improve on fundamentals as they prepare for their final contests of the regular season and the upcoming Commander’s Cup Basketball Tournament.

In Conference B, the 55th Mobility Augmentation Company picked up its fourth consecutive victory, beating the U.S. Navy Detachment,  41-26.

The 55th MAC established an early lead in the opening minutes, then expanded to a 12-point cushion to take a 22-10 lead at halftime. The second half was more even, but the 55th MAC players kept up the pressure, with Kenneth Tate picking up several 3-pointers, while the Navy’s David Davis tried to close the gap by sinking some long-range shots of his own. By the time the final buzzer sounded, the 55th MAC scored 19 second-half points while holding the Navy  to 16.
