The 2nd Battalion, 10th Infantry Regiment, out shot all competitors Friday to take home the 2018 Commander’s Cup Trap Tournament trophy from the annual competition at the Outdoor Adventure Center.
The 2-10th Inf. Bn. team members, which included Richard Smock, Dale Binkley, Jason Cook, Donald Colgate and Brett Oldenburger, took first place with 182 points.
“I was excited to see (Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation) have an event like this,” Smock said. “It was a great opportunity to get outside and bond with the others in our battalion.”
In trap, five-person teams take turns shooting from 10 different positions on the course for a total of 50 shots per player.
Following the 2-10th Inf. Bn. were the 14th Military Police Brigade in second place with a total of 173 points, the Medical Department Activity with 154 points for a third-place finish, the 787th Military Police Battalion in fourth place with 127 points, and the Office of the Staff Judge Advocate, which finished fifth with 101 points.
