With teams completing the eighth week of the 2019 intramural basketball season March 5 and 6 at Davidson Fitness Center, the 43rd Adjutant General Battalion and the 1st Engineer Brigade share the lead of the standings.
The 43rd AG Bn. picked up two wins, defeating the Sappers 66-38 March 5 before beating the 58th Transportation Battalion 65-38 March 6.
The 1st Engr. Bde. defeated Combat Training Company 59-39 March 5.
Both teams now have season records of 11-1 and, with only two weeks remaining in the season, are assured of either a first- or second-place finish in the standings.
In other intramural games played March 5:
— The Medical Department Activity picked up a forfeit win;
— The 554th Engineer Battalion beat the 1st Battalion, 58th Infantry Regiment 67-44;
— The 5th Engineer Battalion defeated the U.S. Marine Corps Detachment 58-62;
— The 58th Trans. Bn. beat the 31st Engineer Battalion 58-48.
In other intramural games played March 6:
— The Sappers defeated the 3rd Battalion, 10th Infantry Regiment, 60-58;
— The 14th Military Police Brigade beat the 31st Engr. Bn. 56-32;
— The 554th Engr. Bn. and the Maneuver Support Center of Excellence both picked up forfeit victories;
— MEDDAC beat the 2nd Battalion, 10th Infantry Regiment, 66-56.
Following the 43rd AG Bn. and 1st Engr. Bde. in the standings are MEDDAC (8-2), MSCoE (8-4), the 554th Engr. Bn. (8-4), the 14th MP Bde. (7-3), CTC (6-5), the Marine Det. (5-7), the Sappers (5-7), the 58th Trans. Bn. (4-6), the 3-10th Inf. Bn. (3-6), the 31st Engr. Bn. (3-8), the 2-10th Inf. Bn. (3-8) and the 1-58th Inf. Bn. (2-10).
Recreation Basketball League games were held March 4 at DFC. In those games:
— The 2-10th Inf. Bn. beat the Engineer Basic Officer Leader Course 65-50;
— The 2-10th Inf. Bn. and MSCoE picked up forfeit wins;
— The 14th MP Bde. beat Ozark Ques 55-47.
MSCoE and the 2-10th Inf. Bn., both at 5-1, lead the Rec League standings, followed by the UnderDawgs (4-2), Ozark Ques (4-2), the 14th MP Bde (3-0), the 2-48th Inf. Bn. (3-3) and E-BOLC (2-3).
