The 43rd Adjutant General Battalion finished Fort Leonard Wood’s 2019 intramural basketball season at the top of the standings, following the final week of games played March 19, 20 and 21 at Davidson Fitness Center.
In its final game of the season March 19, the 43rd AG Bn. defeated the Medical Department Activity 63-54. The victory meant the 43rd AG Bn. finished with a season record of 13-2, which tied with the 1st Engineer Brigade. However, the 43rd AG Bn. took the first-place position since it defeated the 1st Engr. Bde. earlier this season.
The 1st Engr. Bde. also won its final game of the season, beating the 3rd Battalion, 10th Infantry Regiment, 62-36 March 20.
In other games played March 19:
— The Maneuver Support Center of Excellence beat the 2nd Battalion, 10th Infantry Regiment, 61-40;
— The 58th Transportation Battalion defeated the Sappers 62-54;
— The U.S. Marine Corps Detachment and the 5th Engineer Battalion both picked up forfeit wins;
— The 554th Engineer Battalion defeated the 31st Engineer Battalion 77-58.
In other games played March 20:
— The 14th Military Police Brigade beat the Sappers 52-41;
— MSCoE defeated Combat Training Company 53-33;
— The 1st Engineer Brigade beat the 3-10th Inf. Bn. 62-36;
— The 58th Trans. Bn. defeated the Marine Det. 58-55;
— The 2-10th Inf. Bn. and 1-58th 1st Battalion, 58th Infantry Regiment, picked up forfeit wins.
In games played March 21:
— CTC picked up a forfeit victory;
— The 14th MP Bde. defeated the 58th Trans. Bn. 71-42;
— MEDDAC beat the 3-10th Inf. Bn. 62-56.
In the final season standings, following the 43rd AG Bn. and the 1st Engr. Bde., were the 14th MP Bde. (12-3) in third place, MSCoE (11-4) in fourth place, MEDDAC (10-5) in fifth place, the 554th Engr. Bn. (10-5) in sixth place, CTC (9-6) in seventh place, the Marine Det. (7-8) in eighth place, the 5th Engr. Bn. (6-9) in ninth place and the 58th Trans. Bn. (6-9) in 10th place. Rounding out the standings were the 2-10th Inf. Bn. (5-10), the Sappers (5-10), the 31st Engr. Bn. (4-11), the 3-10th Inf. Bn. (4-11) and the 1-58th Inf. Bn. (2-13).
Following the end of the regular season, teams switched their focus to the 2019 Commander’s Cup Basketball Tournament, which began Tuesday. The tournament’s third-place game is scheduled for 6 p.m. tonight, followed by the championship game at 7 p.m. Both games will take place on Court 4 at DFC.
