Another week, another win — two, actually — for the 554th Engineer Battalion flag-football team, which extended its winning streak to seven games.
The 554th Engineers defeated the 58th Transportation Battalion, 30-6, on Oct. 2, then returned to Fort Leonard Wood’s Field 1 two days later to defeat the U.S. Marine Corps Detachment, 36-6, Oct. 4.
The twin victories gave the 554th Engr. Bn. a season record of 7-0 at the top of the standings.
In other games played Oct. 2:
— The 2nd Battalion, 10th Infantry Regiment, picked up a forfeit win;
— The Maneuver Support Center of Excellence defeated the Marine Det., 16-12.
In games played Oct. 3:
— The Marine Det. defeated the 50th Engineer Company, 13-6;
— The Office of the Staff Judge Advocate picked up a forfeit win;
— The 2-10th Inf. Bn. beat the 58th Transportation Battalion, 12-7.
In other games played Oct. 4:
— The 58th Trans. Bn. picked up a forfeit win;
— The 515th Engineer Company defeated the Maneuver Support Center of Excellence, 16-0.
Teams are scheduled to wrap up the regular season of intramural flag football this week. Following the 554th Engr. Bn. in the standings are the 14th Military Police Brigade and OSJA, both with records of 6-1, MSCoE (5-2), the 58th Trans. Bn. (4-4), the 2-10th Inf. Bn. (3-5), the 50th Engr. Co. (2-5), the Marine Det. (2-6), the 515th Engr. Co. (2-4) and the 252nd/180th Military Police Det. (0-8).
