The 554th Engineer Battalion won their final two games of the season to go undefeated and finish at the top of the intramural flag-football standings.
Fort Leonard Wood’s defending champions on the flag-football field, the 554th Engr. Bn. defeated the 14th Military Police Brigade, 32-10, Oct. 9, then beat the 50th Engineer Company, 16-6, the following night on Field 1.
In other games played Oct. 9:
— The 515th Engineer Company Sappers defeated the 252nd/180th Military Police Detachment, 29-0;
— The Office of Staff Judge Advocate beat the 50th Engineer Company, 18-14.
In other games played Oct. 10:
— The U.S. Marine Corps Detachment beat the 515th Sappers, 14-6;
— The 58th Transportation Battalion defeated the Maneuver Support Center of Excellence, 16-6.
In games played Oct. 11:
— The 14th MP Bde. defeated the 515th Sappers, 17-14;
— OSJA beat MSCoE, 17-10;
— The 2nd Battalion, 10th Infantry Regiment, beat the 515th Sappers, 6-0.
Following the 554th Engr. Bn. in the final standings, OSJA finished in second place with a record of 8-1, while the 14th MP Bde. finished third with a record of 7-2. They were followed by the 58th Trans Bn. (5-4) in fourth place and MSCoE (5-4) in fifth place. The 2-10th Inf. Bn. (4-5) took sixth place, followed by the Marine Det. (3-6) in seventh, the 515th Sappers (2-7) in eighth, the 50th Engr. Co. (2-7) in ninth and the 252nd/180th MP Det. (0-9) finishing tenth.
With the regular season complete, teams shifted their focus to the Commander’s Cup Flag Football Tournament, which began Monday. The tournament is scheduled to conclude tonight with the third-place game at 6 p.m. followed by the championship game at 7 p.m.
