Summer Fun Leagues start in May
Daugherty Bowling Center has announced the dates for their bowling leagues, including their Summer Fun Leagues and sanctioned leagues.
Summer Fun Leagues begin the week of May 20. League participants pay $2.75 per game, with most leagues playing three games per night. Shoe rental is an additional $2.25 per night. Shadow bowling begins at 6:20 p.m. for most leagues. Leagues begin on the following dates:
— May 20 kicks off the Esprit De Corps Guidon Tournament, which will be held over 12 weeks on Monday nights at the center. League play includes four-person teams bowling three games per night.
— May 21 begins the Tuesday night Scotch Doubles league. Two-person teams compete in three games per night over 12 weeks.
— May 22 kicks off the Wednesday night adult and youth leagues. Two-person teams will bowl three games per night for 12 weeks.
— May 23 is the first night of the 9 Pin No-Tap Sport Shot league. Four-person teams bowl three games per night on Thursdays for 12 weeks.
— May 24 kicks off the Friday night 9-Pin No-Tap Sport Shot league. Four-person teams will bowl three games each Friday night for 12 weeks.
— May 25, the Youth Fun League begins with shadow bowling at 10:30 a.m. Rates are $2.25 per game with free shoe rental. Participants can also join the “Have A Ball Program” for an additional $5 per week, which ends with a custom-drilled bowling ball for the upcoming season. The league lasts 12 weeks.
Mark your calendar: Organizational meetings will be held the week of Aug. 5 for sanctioned leagues at DBC in 2019.
Meetings are scheduled at 6 p.m. Aug. 5 for the Monday Men’s League, Aug. 6 for the Tuesday Mixed League, Aug. 7 for the Wednesday Ladies League, Aug. 8 for the Thursday Men’s League, Aug. 9 for the Friday Mixed League and at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 10 for the Saturday Youth League.
Sanctioned leagues will begin play Aug. 19 through 24 at DBC. Adult leagues will hold shadow bowling at 6:20 p.m., with games starting at 6:30 p.m. each night. Youth leagues will hold shadow bowling at 8:20 a.m., with games starting at 8:30 a.m.
Fees for sanctioned adult leagues will be $2.75 per game, with each league night consisting of three games. Shoe rental will be available for $1.75. Some leagues may have additional prize fund fees, which will be determined by the league members themselves.
Sanctioned youth league participants will pay $2.25 per game with free shoe rental. Youth leagues will be divided into three age divisions:
— Pee Wees, for ages 3 to 6. Players will bowl two games with bumpers.
— Bantam Prep, for ages 7 to 11. Players will bowl three games.
— Junior Majors, for ages 12 to 18. Players will bowl three games.
Regular bowling rates at Daugherty Bowling Center are $3.25 per game.
Shoe rental is $2.25 per day.
Accessing Fort Leonard Wood
Players who don’t already possess the necessary ID will need to obtain a visitor pass for the day of their league meeting.
Once customers attend the first meeting and sign up for the league, they will be given a sponsor’s email address in order to obtain a pass for the length of the league.

‘Perfect game’ bowlers to be added to Wall of Fame

Daugherty Bowling Center’s Wall of Fame will soon have several new photos, including those who have bowled perfect games since the fall of 2018.
The wall was installed at the beginning of the year to commemorate the top bowlers at the center. To be placed on the wall, male bowlers must score 285 or higher, while females must score 275 or higher.
Those who bowl perfect games of 300 will have their league and date — or dates in the case of those who have bowled multiple perfect games — listed along with their name. “Perfect 300 Games” bowlers include:

— Dean Cook, Noontime League, May 3, 2018
— J.P. Flores, Thursday Night League, Sept. 20, 2018
