The Bruce C. Clarke Library will celebrate Martin Luther King Day in January and Black History Month in February with a variety of educational resources like books and media items.
This year, the date of Martin Luther King Day is Monday, January 21, 2019.
The holiday celebrates the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. (January 15, 1929 – 4 April 4, 1968) who dedicated his life to the equal treatment and civil rights of African-Americans.
His “I have a dream” speech was one of the most inspirational oratorical representations of the 20th century.

Available for students and researchers are a large number of online databases and digital resources on Dr. King and the Civil Rights Movement. These are provided free to our users by the Clarke Library and Department of Defense.
In order to access most of the above mentioned electronic resources, patrons will need an Army Morale, Welfare and Recreation GLIS My Library Account which is available to all military and retirees and family members. It can be used without a CAC card.
The Clarke Library can now register patrons for an Army MWR Library My Account username and PIN.
In order to qualify it is required to have both a Clarke Library and Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System account.
