Auditions will be held for the Missoula Children’s Theatre production of “Blackbeard the Pirate” from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday at the home of the Ozarks Actors Theatre company, the Cedar Street Playhouse, in Rolla.
Those auditioning should arrive at 3:30 p.m. and plan to stay for the full two hours. Some of the cast members will be asked to stay for a rehearsal immediately following the auditions. Those cast in the production will commit to a full week of rehearsals at the theater.
Missoula Children’s Theatre touring productions are complete with costumes, scenery, props and makeup.
Auditions are open to children currently enrolled in kindergarten through the 12th grade, or the homeschool age equivalent.
Among the roles to be cast are Blackbeard and his crew of bearded pirates, sailors, crabs, crocodiles, mermaids, seaweed creatures, parrots and beach
Assistant directors will also be cast to aid in rehearsals throughout the week and to take on essential backstage responsibilities.
No advance preparation is necessary.
This is the third year in a row that MCT has been produced by OAT in Rolla.
“Blackbeard the Pirate” will have two performances, the first at 3 p.m., followed by a second show at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 6 at the Cedar Street Playhouse.
Tickets will go on sale Oct. 1 following the casting of the production.
