The Fort Leonard Wood United Soccer Club is seeking new players for its upcoming season. The club will hold a meeting for all interested players from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday on the soccer fields next to the Exchange.
The club is open to members of all services, their family members ages 18 and older with a valid ID card, as well as government civilian employees and contractors directly affiliated with Fort Leonard Wood.
The club plays in regular scrimmages and matches throughout the region and hosts educational soccer events for kids, including its upcoming 2020 Kid’s Camp slated for March 14. The club will play its first match this season May 2, when it faces the Scott Air Force Base soccer team at World Wide Technology Soccer Park in Fenton, Missouri. The club’s season will culminate in the annual Defender’s Cup Military Soccer Tournament, traditionally played over Labor Day weekend in San Antonio, Texas.
Anyone interested in playing soccer on Fort Leonard Wood is urged to attend. More information is available on the “FLW United Soccer Club” Facebook page, or by contacting coach Jeff Cornuet at firstname.lastname@example.org or by text at 573.337.8671.
