With the holiday season approaching, the Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation Food and Beverage staff at Pershing Community Center is taking reservations for holiday parties, as well as offering catering services elsewhere on the installation.
In an effort to help offices celebrate while complying with COVID-19 safety measures, FMWR Food and Beverage Manager Chloe Williams said her department is offering discounts this year, including 20-percent off services at PCC and waiving service charges for catering at other sites on post.
“MWR has always done catering, but this year, because of COVID-19, we are trying to provide services that will allow people to stay safe in their areas,” she said. “As an incentive, we are waving our office catering service charge. We want to take the stress and work out of holiday party planning and let people relax and enjoy their time with their co-workers in the safest possible environment.”
Catering for in-office parties is served buffet-style, and can include nearly any type of menu item. Costs depend largely on the menu items selected, but typically average between $10 and $15 per person, Williams said.
“We work with our clients to meet their needs,” she explained. “We can do traditional holiday meals or non-traditional taco bars, for example. We love to help plan menus to fit each office; we are flexible and excited to work with our customers to deliver food that will meet the style of their office party. … By talking with our clients, we can work together to come up with customized offerings — we can even accommodate both meat lovers and vegans at the same event.”
To make reservations, or for more information, Williams said people in charge of planning their office parties should call her office at 573.329.2455.
“The sooner the better,” she said. “We need at least seven days advance notice to cater an event.”
