You can get fit and raise awareness about breast cancer during two “Pink” fitness events coming to Fort Leonard Wood
The Pink 5k, Duathlon and Kid’s Half Miler gets underway at 8 a.m. Oct. 13 at Davidson Fitness Center.
The free event is part of the installation’s 2018 5k Fun Run Race series.
Participants can take part in the 5k fun run starting at 8 a.m., or with advance registration, take part in the duathlon, which consists of a 5k run, a 10k bicycle ride and another 5k run.
Registration for the duathlon can be completed in person now through Oct. 12 at DFC. Call 573.596.4359 for more information.
The 5k will be followed by the Kid’s Half Miler at 9 a.m.
The first of two planned Pink Parties for Breast Cancer is scheduled from 9 to 11 a.m. Oct. 13 inside DFC. The Pink Zumba Party will include Zumba in the gym and Aqua Zumba from 10:15 to 11:15 a.m. in the natatorium.
The second Pink Party is scheduled from 9 to 11 a.m. Oct. 20 when DFC hosts the Pink Fitness Expo. Participants can engage in several fitness styles and classes, including Body Pump, Pound, Cycling and Aqua from 10:15 to 11:15 a.m.
Pre-registration for both Pink Parties is open now through Oct. 12.
Participation fees are $10 for one event or $15 for both events.
Registration includes a T-shirt. Receipts are needed for event entry.
Same-day registration is an additional $5.
