Lt. Col. Tuck Palmer is leading a team from the U.S. Army Engineer School Directorate of Training and Leader Development to provide remote technical assistance to the 5th Security Force Assistance Brigade with Bailey portable bridge construction as they support Honduras’ hurricane relief measures.
The DOTLD team has provided the technical manual and the program of instruction for the bridge, and a team member with Bailey bridge construction experience remains on standby for the 5th SFAB and Honduran engineers as they further develop the scope of support needed.

Dr. Eric Powell, inter-personnel agency hire for the Maneuver Support Center of Excellence Homeland Defense/Civil Support office, serves as a liaison officer to U.S. Army War College. He is providing expertise to the Security and Assurance team on Operation Warp Speed.
Leadership at OWS requested his continued support through this month based on his critical contributions and expertise, including his contributions to strategic messaging and risk management and his ability to enhance communications among the military, medical and academic communities.
Powell’s latest report validated open-source reports that, although great strides have been made in the development of both vaccines and therapeutics, continually increasing and record-breaking infection and death rates from COVID-19 will outstrip these efforts for the near-term, and it advocated for meaningful implementation of recommended mitigation protocols.
