The Bruce C. Clarke Library It’s Showtime at Your Library Summer Reading Program will end July 11.
Readers can still signup at https://brucecclarke.beanstack.org to log minutes online that have been read or listened to.
The various program levels are Pre-Readers, Children, Teens and Adults.
Readers have until August 1st to pick up their reading incentives (while supplies last).
For school age children, summer reading is both fun and will help them maintain their skills over the summer vacation, stopping “summer slide.”
For the youngest children the joy of having their parents or older siblings read to them will create a life-long love of reading.
While we have established recommended minimum goals to earn reading incentives or prizes during the program, we hope everyone reports all their reading or listening online on a regular basis throughout the program — because both it’s fun and necessary to be eligible for prize drawings.
The grand prizes will be randomly drawn online after the end of the program and winners will be contacted.
Summer readers have to log enough online minutes to complete all badges or prize levels for the program for their age group to be included in the final drawing.
The overall program is online, meaning readers can participate anytime and anywhere.
The summer reading program is for people of all ages, including those who can’t read yet, but enjoy hearing books.
The Department of Defense and Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation Libraries provided the online program and many of the reading incentives such as themed T-shirts, book bags, etc.
Contact the main circulation desk at 573.563.4113 for further information.
Library computers can be used to sign up and add minutes to the online reading logs.
All children must be accompanied by a parent, guardian or adult caregiver to participate in summer reading events.
Following the summer reading program, the Clarke Library will be hosting a Talent Show from 3 to 6 p.m. July 11.
Everyone is welcome to participate no matter your age. We will have different age groups and age appropriate incentives for performers.
Please sign-up no later than July 3.
Come and perform or enjoy the entertainment.
Practices for the show will be held on June 27 and July 8 from 4 to 5:30 p.m.
Participants will meet July 11 before the show at 1:00 p.m.
