In its first competition of the school year, Waynesville High School’s JROTC Drill Team brought home several trophies from the 18th annual Ozark Inter-service Drill Competition Saturday.
— Armed Regulation Team, led by Catalina Ortega, finished first overall.
— Victor Peralta finished first overall in Armed Exhibition Solo.
— New Cadet Armed Regulation Team, led by Zach Remedies, finished second overall.
— Chloe Olmstead and Haven Royal finished third overall in Unarmed Dual Exhibition.
— Victor Peralta and Roberto Arzabala finished third overall in Armed Dual Exhibition.
— Niamh Gallagher finished fourth overall in the Individual Drill Down, and Emilee Johnson finished eighth overall.
The sixth annual Waynesville Drill Competition is set for Jan. 23 at WHS. The drill team will next compete in Joplin, Missouri, on Feb. 6.
