Sept. 11 represented a big step forward for Daugherty Bowling Center, which saw the return of the Friday Night Mixed League — the first league bowling to take place since the center reopened in July.
“We were fortunate to have little or no changes to the team’s size or format,” said DBC Manager Joseph Manucci.
Currently consisting of 13, four-person teams, the center still has room for up to two more teams in the Friday-night league before it reaches its limit for effective social distancing.
Manucci plans to expand league play to include a Noontime League the first week of October. Teams interested in participating can call DBC at 573.596.1498.
He added that the center has made some other significant steps in recent weeks, including an expanded food menu. DBC also now accepts cash, which has allowed it to bring back electronic Bingo.
Mannuci credits the efforts of the bowling center’s staff for being able to return additional menu items and services in a relatively short amount of time.
“The staff and I learn something new each day, but they are a group of forward thinkers and are always looking to provide our guests with a great experience,” he said. “We look forward to a great league season.”
DBC is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursdays through Sundays. Open bowling rates are $3.25 per game for adults, $2 per game for students, children 16 and younger and seniors 55 and older. Shoe rental is $2.25 per person.
