The Bruce C. Clarke Library wishes, “happy holidays” to the Fort Leonard Wood community. With the holidays coming soon, are you expecting a new or upgraded eReader, tablet, or phone?
If the weather turns snowy and you just don’t want to leave the house, the library has many virtual services you can use from your own devices.
Clarke Library patrons can register for an Army MWR Library account user name and PIN at https://mwrlibrary.armybiznet.com.
In addition to a Clarke Library account, you must also have a DEERS account to qualify.
New online resources
— Business Entrepreneurship covers all aspects of starting and operating a business, including accounting, finance, human resources, management, marketing and tax.
— Plan Builder (Gale) A step-by-step online planning tool for starting, managing and optimizing a business or nonprofit.
— Interactive Science (Gale) Explore science from every angle with 3D models on biology, chemistry, earth and space science.
— RBdigital Unlimited Comics offers unlimited access to thousands of digital graphic novels and comics.
— Mr. and Mrs. Claus will be making a pit stop at the Clarke Library from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Dec. 18 to read a story to the children of Fort Leonard Wood. Children can visit Santa individually to tell him what they want for Christmas. There will also be festive music played by the 399th Army Band.
— Clarke Library will host Polar Express Story Time from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Dec. 19 in the Children’s Room. Children can arrive in their pajamas and help participate in the reading of the classic book, “The Polar Express.” Snacks and a G-rated holiday movie will be provided. For those who do not want to watch the movie, the library will lead book gift wrapping and craft time. The books will be given to Soldiers in the barracks to spread some holiday cheer.
Holiday movie showings
At 10: 30 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday and Dec. 16, the library will show a variety of family-friendly holiday movies.
