Waynesville and St. Robert’s 2019 Veterans Day Ceremony and Parade will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m Monday.
The ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. at the St. Robert Municipal Center, where the parade will form immediately thereafter.
The drop-off location for the parade will be Freedom Elementary School’s parking lot. Participants who have more than one vehicle at the parade are advised to arrive together. Line-up will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. The parade may be cancelled in the event of inclement weather. For parade reservations, call 573.336.5121.
Cub Scout Pack 202 of Waynesville will be holding a flag retirement ceremony, led by Sgt. 1st Class Nicholas Lawton, technical engineer instructor, at 1:30 p.m. at Rubidoux Park.
During the formal portion of the event, scouts and service members will perform the intricate process of retiring the large flag, which flew over a gas station in Waynesville. State Rep. Steve Lynch, Waynesville Mayor Luge Hardman and U.S. Army Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear School Commandant Col. Daryl Hood are scheduled to speak.
All are welcome to bring unserviceable flags for retirement.
