As part of the nationwide “America Saves Campaign,” “Military Saves Week” encourages our Fort Leonard Wood teammates to take advantage of opportunities that provide them with sound financial goals and savings strategies. By staying committed to a plan, such as investing in the Thrift Savings Program or other retirement accounts, service members and their families can focus on money management for a more stable future.
Leaders: Be wary of signs of financial distress within your ranks. Every service member can benefit from utilizing federal, state and local resources while discovering new ways to reduce debt and make healthy financial decisions.
Financial fitness is a team effort; protect each other from misleading lenders or hyped and exaggerated claims of making fast money. Remember that too much debt, or debt that remains unpaid, can negatively affect your security clearance and military career.
This “Military Saves Week,” we ask that you start small and think big; make a pledge to a goal of financial fitness and stability.
We are proud to serve with you. Victory starts here, victory through skill.
