This week, the Missouri Department of Conservation launched its new podcast, “Nature Boost,” which focuses on positive impacts the outdoors can provide.

“We’re very excited to share this Nature Boost experience with both our seasoned outdoor enthusiasts and those brand new to discovering nature,” said Sara Parker Pauley, MDC director. “It’s a chance to learn about the incredible natural resources we have right here in Missouri, including how those nature experiences are changing lives every day.”
The podcast will explore topics such as nature and health, outdoor recreation and native Missouri wildlife. Each episode features a Conservation Department expert or partner, and highlights ways that everyone can benefit from nature — whether they’re a seasoned outdoors enthusiast or someone who may be unfamiliar with nature.
Nature Boost also encourages listeners to enjoy the outdoors safely amid COVID-19 precautions, often serving up reminders to practice social distancing and handwashing measures even when outside.
MDC staffer Jill Pritchard serves as the podcast host. She hopes to bring an entertaining and engaging approach to sharing stories about conservation and wildlife with listeners.
“What I love most about (the podcast) is that we’re going on this adventure together,” Pritchard said. “I’m learning right there along with listeners, and I’m so looking forward to seeing what else we discover together.”
The first episode of the Nature Boost podcast is available on multiple podcast platforms. Additional episodes and seasons are currently in production. Listeners can learn more at mdc.mo.gov/natureboost and at https://youtu.be/w1bnKTrqzvg.
