The Ozark Actors Theatre in Rolla will wrap up its run of “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever: The Musical” this weekend, as it prepares for its production of “Elf: The Musical,” at the Cedar Street Playhouse.
Based on the play by Barbara Robinson, “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” tells the story of six, wildly undisciplined Herdman siblings who bully their way into major roles in their local church’s annual Christmas pageant. Performances are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. tonight, Friday and Saturday, with 2 p.m. matinees Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are $16 for adults, $14 for military service members and young adults ages 13 to 29 and $12 for children ages 12 and younger.
The OAT company will present its annual professional Christmas show, “Elf: The Musical” Dec. 6 through 15. Show times are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays with 2 p.m. matinees on Fridays and Sundays. The musical is based on the film of the same name and follows Buddy the Elf as he searches for his human father. Tickets are $25 for adults, $21 for service members and young adults 13 to 29 and $15 for children ages 12 and younger. Admission is free for children ages 2 and younger.
