Other FMWR facilities alter hours of operation
The Outdoor Adventure Center reopened this week with most services restored and some COVID-19 safety measures in place.
“We just ask customers to take all the same precautionary measures with our equipment that they would with anything else,” said Jeffrey Barrett, Supervisory Recreation specialist and OAC manager. “Safety and sanitation is our highest priority and we want to ensure that our patrons are maintaining these same principles. Other than that, we look forward to seeing everyone back out for some family fun activities and serving our community.”
Curbside rentals are available, and the OAC’s retail area is open for shopping. Face masks must be worn while inside the facility and interacting with staff members. Social distancing is encouraged at all times.
“Curbside rentals will include bounce houses, grills, canoes, kayaks, dunk tanks and yard games,” Barrett said. “They will need to call ahead and reserve as they normally would. Nothing has changed in our reservation or rental process.”
The OAC is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, with Tuesdays and Wednesdays only having retail services available. The center is also open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
“The retail store will be open seven days a week to accommodate state and local licenses,” Barrett said.
The center’s trap and skeet areas, along with the archery range are also now open while other activities remain on hold.
“The paintball course, 3D archery course, scamp rentals and our traditional float trips will not be offered just yet until more measures have been lifted due to COVID-19,” Barrett said. “We hope to resume these programs soon.”
The OAC is located at 16810 FLW K Road. For more information about the OAC, visit the FMWR website at https://leonardwood.armymwr.com/programs/outdoor-adventure-center-oac or call 573.596-4223.
