The Ozark Tavern, located at Building 492 North Dakota Ave., will be hosting its grand opening this Friday as Fort Leonard Wood’s premier sit-down restaurant. Andrea Swinton, Ozark Tavern’s general manager, previously managed a restaurant in Germany and is excited to open a new one on the fort.
She said “Ozark Tavern offers a place for patrons to sit, relax and enjoy good food and beverage in a comfortable, relaxing atmosphere.”
Guests will immediately notice the unique aesthetic upon setting foot inside the door.
“The Tavern’s décor is reflective of the local area and offers guests a glimpse into the beauty that is the Ozarks,” said Megan O’Donoghue, Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation, Business and Recreation division director.
“We also have a beautiful patio with an outdoor TV where customers can relax and watch their favorite sports or play a game of cornhole,” she added.
The restaurant boasts a full bar and even local beers from Springfield and Bucyrus. The menu features an exciting, yet affordable repertoire with items such as ribs and St. Louis style toasted ravioli.
Currently, the most expensive meal is only $15.
Reservations will not be required, but are preferred for large parties. Orders for pick up will be available, and parking is located at the side of the tavern behind the post office. For more information ahead of the opening, please call 573.596.0241.
