Professional wrestling stars from the past, present and future will enter the ring at 7 p.m. Saturday at Nutter Field House during the “Christmas Crash.”
The special event, co-hosted by Lebanon, Missouri-based Ringside Championship Wrestling, and Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation, promises audiences a night of hard-hitting, family-friendly action and entertainment.
“We are very excited about bringing RCW Wrestling to the Fort,” said Brian Thompson, RCW LLC promoter and owner. “It will be an honor to bring our brand of family-friendly entertainment to the military families on (the installation).”
Eli Wilson, FMWR Community Activities manager, said Thompson approached FMWR officials some time ago about holding a wrestling event on post.
“Brian reached out to MWR to partner and host that event on Fort Leonard Wood,” Wilson said. “It just gives us one more connection from the civilian side to the military side.”
Advance tickets are on sale now for $15 for adults and $10 for children ages 6 to 17. Same-day tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for children. Children ages 5 and younger will be admitted free. Advance tickets are available at Pershing Community Center, 16593 Piney Hills Dr., Bldg. 4109, or online at leonardwood.armymwr.com.
Saturday’s event will include five pro-wrestling matches plus special guest appearances by World Wrestling Entertainment Hall of Famer “Cowboy” Bob Orton and National Wrestling Alliance and World Championship Wrestling legend “Beautiful” Bobby Eaton of the Midnight Express.
For one wrestler in particular, the Christmas Crash will be an opportunity to return to Fort Leonard Wood. In the ring, he’s known as “The Ace that runs the Place,” but Ace Hawkins spent time on post in 2015 attending Advanced Individual Training with the Company A, 554th Engineer Battalion, to become a horizontal construction engineer in the Army National Guard.
Other wrestlers scheduled to compete Saturday include Kyle Roberts, “KB Violence” Karim Brigante, Miss Monica Passeri, “The Legacy” Leland Race, “A Wrestler for the People” Rex, Alpha Omega, “The Captain of Team Babe” Camron Bra’nae and The Iceman. Many of the wrestlers scheduled to appear have been featured on television worldwide. The lineup is subject to change.
“We’re thrilled to bring a mix of superstars from the past and present with a few who very well may be a future WWE superstar,” Thompson said.
The event will be taped for “RCW Ringside Edition TV,” a program available through online streaming service HighSpots Wrestling Network and the RCW social media pages on Facebook and YouTube.
Doors open at 6 p.m.
