Piney Valley Golf Course has scheduled the first of three upcoming “Special Event Days” for Aug. 15, giving golfers a chance to win prizes for completing the longest drive, shooting closest to the pin or completing the longest putt.
“We are starting with three to see how participation goes,” explained Steve Belton, golf course manager.
Belton said the special will run from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. To participate, all golfers need to do is pay an additional $5 fee.
“(They) pay an extra $5 over the greens fee, and they can compete in closest-to-the-pin, longest drive and longest putt made based on age groups,” Belton said. “No sign up is needed.”
Prizes will be based on participation. The special is open only to authorized personnel. Participants must be ages 18 and older.
The next scheduled Special Event Day is Sept. 12.
