Fort Leonard Wood’s Recreation Basketball League teams began their 2020 season Jan. 27 at Davidson Fitness Center.
The 12 Rec League teams will play on Monday nights for the next six weeks in two conferences, with Conference A teams playing on Court 2 and Conference B teams playing on Court 4.
In Rec League Conference A games played Jan. 27:
— Ozark Ques defeated the 58th Transportation Battalion Rec team 51-29;
— The Hot Boys beat Ozark Ques 81-53
— The 58th Trans. Bn. Rec League team defeated the Maneuver Support Center of Excellence/Combat Training Company combined Rec League team 37-35.
In Conference B Rec League games played that night:
— Birdy’s Revenge and the 14th Military Police Brigade Rec League teams each picked up a forfeit win;
— Birdy’s Revenge beat the 1st Engineer Brigade Rec League team 55-38.
Military-unit teams completed their third week of the 2020 season.
In Conference A games played Jan. 28 and 29:
— The 14th MP Bde. defeated the U.S. Marine Corps Detachment 64-33;
— The 14th MP Bde. beat the Medical Department Activity 53-43;
— The 14th MP Bde. defeated MEDDAC 53-44;
— The Sappers beat MEDDAC 56-47.
With six weeks remaining in the regular season, the 14th MP Bde. leads the Conference A standings with a record of 7-0, followed by the Sappers (4-1), the 58th Trans. Bn. (3-1), MEDDAC (3-3) and the Marine Det. (2-4).
In Conference B intramural games played Jan. 28 and 29:
— MSCoE/CTC beat the 1st Engr. Bde. 46-41;
— The 5th Engineer Battalion defeated the Office of the Staff Judge Advocate 44-38;
— OSJA beat the 31st Engineer Battalion 31-45;
— The 5th Engr. Bn. defeated the 3rd Chemical Brigade 39-37.
The MSCoE/CTC combined team leads the Conference B standings with a record of 3-1, followed by the 5th Engr. Bn. (2-1), OSJA (2-1), 1st Engr. Bde. (1-1), 3rd Chem. Bde. (2-2) and the 31st Engr. Bn. (0-4).
