Three teams earned wins; three nursed losses, and three have yet to play after the opening week of the 2019 season of Fort Leonard Wood’s Recreation Basketball League.
Unlike the intramural teams, which, for the most part, are restricted to service members, Rec League teams are open to civilians, the only stipulation being that players must be at least 18 years of age and out of high school.
Six of the league’s nine teams competed Jan. 28 on Courts 2 and 4 at Davidson Fitness Center. In those games:
— The UnderDawgs defeated the Company A, 2nd Battalion, 10th Infantry Regiment, 121-27;
— The Maneuver Support Center of Excellence beat the 2-10th Inf. Bn. 48-45;
— Ozark Ques beat the 2nd Battalion, 48th Infantry Regiment, 35-11.
Rec League teams will continue to play at 6 and 7 p.m. Mondays at DFC for the next eight weeks.
The Medical Department Activity became the only team without a loss so far this season, following its 60-57 win over the 14th Military Police Brigade Jan. 29 at DFC.
MEDDAC leads the standings of the 16-team intramural league with a record of 3-0, followed by the 554th Engineer Battalion, at 4-1, and the 43rd Adjutant General Battalion, the 5th Engineer Battalion and the 1st Engineer Brigade, all at 3-1.
Competition on Jan. 29 and 30 comprised the third week of the intramural season at DFC.

— The 5th Engr. Bn. defeated the 3rd Battalion, 10th Infantry Regiment, 44-37;
— The Sappers beat the Maneuver Support Center of Excellence, 42-38;
— The 2-10th Inf. Bn. defeated CTC, 38-37;
— The 31st Engineer Battalion beat the 2-48th Inf. Bn., 43-38.
In games played Jan. 30:
— The 31st Engr. Bn. defeated the 2-10th Inf. Bn. 43-41;
— The 1st Engr. Bde. beat the U.S. Marine Corps Detachment 49-34;
— The 5th Engr. Bn. defeated the Sappers 77-63;
— The 43rd AG Bn. beat the 1st Battalion, 58th Infantry Regiment, 61-31;
— The 14th MP Bde. defeated the 554th Engr. Bn. 70-60;
— MSCoE beat the 58th Trans. Bn. 55-32.
