Families can sign up now through Wednesday for Fort Leonard Wood’s inaugural “Breakfast with Santa,” which will begin at 8 a.m. Dec. 14 in the ballrooms at Pershing Community Center.
“As far as I know, this is the first time we’ve done this here,” said Eli Wilson, Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation Community Activities manager.
The purpose of the event is to hold a holiday-themed event for families that make up the Fort Leonard Wood community.
Attendees will be able to visit with Santa over a buffet breakfast of waffles, eggs and other breakfast foods. Santa will also read a story during breakfast, after which families can enjoy activities in Santa’s workshop, such as writing Christmas letters, making crafts, enjoying holiday music, creating holiday cards for veterans and more.
Each family can enjoy a personal visit with Santa in the North Pole Room, and there will be photo opportunities with Santa during the event.
Admission is $11 for adults and children ages 11 and older, $6 for children ages 4 to 10 and free for children ages 3 and younger.
While the event is open to the public, advance registration is required.
“We are taking reservations for this particular event — it’s required to register in advance so we can plan appropriately, have enough seats and have a count for food, activities and such,” Wilson said.
Registration can be completed online by clicking the “sign up” button on the event page online at https://leonardwood.armymwr.com.
