Registration is now open for Fort Leonard Wood’s Vacation Bible School scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon July 23 through 27 at the Main Post Chapel.
This year’s VBS is themed “Shipwrecked, Rescued by Jesus,” and is sponsored by the installation’s Religious Support Office.
According to Rachel Rondon, VBS director, the program is open to children entering kindergarten through sixth grade.
“Vacation Bible School is a fun, healthy, and safe way for children to make new friends, build (connections) between families on Fort Leonard Wood, and learn Bible truths,” Rondon said. “Children will be positively impacted during their time at VBS.”
Rondon said children can expect to sing, dance, play games, learn and experience Bible stories, participate in experiments, and eat tropical treats.
Chaplain (Col.) David Bowlus, Maneuver Support Center of Excellence Garrison chaplain, said VBS is a fun, faith-strengthening experience that will be a highlight of the summer.
“In addition teaching our children about God’s transforming love for them, VBS is one of the best ways for new families to meet new friends and get integrated into the spiritual life of Fort Leonard Wood.”
Space is limited, so Rondon encourages people to register as soon as possible by visiting https://vbspro.events/p/flw-2018. Volunteers are also welcome but will be subject to a background check.
