The annual Run to Remember 5K Fun Run begins at 8 a.m. Saturday at Davidson Fitness Center.
Army Community Services, Gold Star families and the Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation Sports and Fitness Department will hold the free run as an event paying tribute to Soldiers lost but not forgotten.
The race, which is free and open to the public, is open to runners with dogs on leashes and those pushing strollers.
The race will be followed at 9 a.m. by a Kid’s Half Miler.
The event is part of the installation’s 2019 race series. Runners with punch cards can receive credit toward a free T-shirt at the end of the series.
The run is also part of Fort Leonard Wood’s Strong B.A.N.D.S. campaign. Strong B.A.N.D.S. stands for Balance, Activity, Nutrition, Determination and Strength, and is designed to promote garrison fitness and wellness programs available to service members, their families, retirees and civilians. The campaign is held annually by participating Army garrisons worldwide.
