The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) is the Nation’s second largest food and nutrition assistance program. Based on the Paid Lunch Equity Tool from Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, the Waynesville R-VI School District will increase its prices 10 cents for each breakfast and lunch starting in the 2019-20 school year.
The free and reduced meals form will be available at enrollment and Meet the Teacher nights.
Specific instructions will be included in the packet to help military families complete the forms.
Federal guidelines dictate when housing allowances are included in the income section and when they are not.
The required price increases will result in the following totals:
Lunch price increase
Kindergarten to 8th grade: $2.10
9th to 12th grade: $2.30
Reduced price lunch: $0.40
Adult: $2.80
Breakfast price increase
Thayer Elementary and High
School: $1.45
Reduced price breakfast $0.30
Adult: $2.25
