Fort Leonard Wood is scheduled to hold the 2019 Sexual Harassment and Assault Prevention Summit from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday in Lincoln Hall Auditorium for all company through brigade command teams.
The SHARP Summit is designed to bring leaders together in support of the Army-wide effort to mitigate sexual assault and harassment through Education and discipline with a focus on prevention. The guest speakers for the summit include an active-duty Soldier and Navy veteran who are both advocates for victims and support causes and resources to help eliminate sexual assault in the military.
Maj. Hali Picciano has appeared on a congressional panel for sexual assault victims and participated in educational training for initial entry Soldiers.
Heath Phillips is an advocate for male victims of sexual assault and has shared his story on multiple talk shows and in printed publications.
The summit will also include an opportunity for attendees to interact with a panel of experts. Picciano and Phillips will join Maj. Rachel Gordienko, special victim’s prosecutor with the Staff Judge Advocate’s Office, and Special Agent Sean Diemler, special victim’s investigator, to round out the panel.
